Where's Wally for Star Wars fans

If you'v ever enjoyed the Where's Wally? children's books and you're a fan of Star Wars then you're going to LOVE Where's the Wookie? It's exactly what you'd expect from a children's activity book in this style, it has some fabulous and very detailed cartoon images of very recognisable Star Wars locations and you have to search these double spread images for Chewbacca and 9 other characters from the movies (including Han Solo, the Millennium Falcon, Boba Fett & Bossk among others).

Some characters are fairly easy to find while others will take much longer (in fact there are a few I STILL haven't spotted!) but there is definitely hours of entertainment for all ages in the book.

Where's the Wookiee? will make a great Christmas present or socking filler for Star Wars fans of all ages.

I bought this as a gift for my cousin, I figured it was unique because it was not widely available in the states, so odds are he wouldn't be receiving it from anyone else. I've seen some of those other Star Wars search & find books that have pretty sparse illustrations and you could find the object from 30 feet away, this is a pretty quality book, in the same manner as Where's Waldo/Wally. If he doesn't like the book, I'll be more than happy to keep it myself!

The book was pretty unique. My boyfriend and I were a bit disappointed with the art style of the actual search pages. The front back and indexes and any non-search and find geared pages had a clear style. Many of the search and find pages seemed to decrease in quality to the point of not being able to tell if we actually found a character because it seemed to be drawn sloppy compared to the standard that we expected based on the cover and opening pages and character profile.

Overall it was still fun to go through and we enjoyed it enough along with having a few good laughs.

Hildeberto Cabral is Professor of Mathematics at the Federal University of Pernambuco in Recife, Brazil. He has published on periodic solutions, stability, and other topics in Hamiltonian systems and celestial mechanics. Florin Diacu is Professor of Mathematics and Director of the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences at the University of Victoria. He is the author of "Singularities of the N-Body Problem" and "An Introduction to Differential Equations" and coauthor of "Celestial Encounters" (Princeton).

Deceptive book title

I suspect this book was given its title to reel in buyers actually looking for the book "Guess How Much I Love You", which is the well-known origin of the line. The phrase isn't even used in the text of this book, though a similar one is. It's still a cute young children's book, there's nothing wrong with it otherwise, but I think the title is deceptive.

I bought this book because of the title, since it is a favorite saying of my grandchild's mother. I was disappointed that the phrase was not even used in the story. And the story was not very well written. All in all, I was sorry I had spent money on this book.

About the Author

Gorur Govinda Raju holds a B.Eng from the University of Bangalore (India) and a Ph.D from the University of Liverpool (UK). He joined the University of Windsor (Ontario, Canada) in 1980 and became professor and head of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department during 1989–97 and 2000–2002. He has been on the board and program committee of the IEEE Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena for many years, and is currently a lifetime emeritus professor at the University of Windsor. Professor Raju has been an electrical power and dielectric phenomena consultant to the government of India, Detroit Edison Co., and several other organizations. He has published four engineering books, a novel, and more than 150 papers in international journals and conference proceedings. His experimental and theoretical contributions to gaseous electronics and dielectric phenomena continue to be cited in numerous research papers.

Cracks in the crystal ball

This book almost won the .NET Core 1.0 publication race. The first book/s on a new technology sell more and thus make more money but the 'best' books come later. It's obvious the author was using an early version (probably RC1) of .NET Core when writing this book. Unfortunately, RC2 removed the command line tools and opted to release them in 'Previews'. As of today (30 May 2016) the tooling preview is preview 1. Preview 1 does not contain all the functionality that's shown in this book. For example, page 19 talks about the REPL. The REPL is not currently available. On page 21 it states that you can compile a program to native code using this command line: > dotnet build --native. No, you can't. Running that will give you an error. The note (in the insert) on page 22 mentions the 'dotnet compile' command but that currently is not available either. Maybe these tools will be available in the future, maybe not. For now the book leaves the reader scratching their head.

Also, (Code on page 20) the NetStandard.Library moniker shown under the "dependencies" section of the sample project.json file is obsolete. It has been replaced by Microsoft.NETCore.App. This mistake propagates into subsequent chapters.

If the code is still in RC or Preview status, write a blog post or at most, a 200-300 page book on getting started. Don't write the 1400+ page professional edition until development slows down. To learn more about the current state of .NET Core, read Microsoft's .NET blog.

Comprehensive Coverage of every C# 6 & .NET Core technology, but let down a little by the examples

Really pleased with this and it offers comprehensive coverage of every aspect of .Net Core. My only issue is that while there are downloadable example projects for each chapter, they were written with a pre-release version of VS/.Net Core/Win 10/whatever, so when you load them up in Visual Studio, all of the external references are broken and they wont compile.
